Oncology Nurse Navigator

The oncology Navigator Program at Clinch Valley Health is a vital program that connects patients with a unique professional advocate, an Oncology Nurse Navigator. Patients coping with a possible or confirmed cancer diagnosis will be able to include the navigator on their health care team from the very beginning of their cancer journey. The nurse navigator will work with patients and families to provide information, support and resources to assist with overcoming barriers to their care.

For those patients facing a possible diagnosis of cancer or who have a confirmed cancer diagnosis, our nurse navigator can assist with the following:

• Working with primary care providers to ensure patients receive results and treatments in a timely manner.
• Coordinating appointments, tests, surgeries and/or therapies
• Providing education and emotional support to patients and their families
• Connecting patients with community services and resources in addition to medical care

Our Oncology Nurse Navigator, Angela Lambert, serves as an advocate for patients and is a liaison between the patients, caregiver and the patient's professional medical team. "I am there for the cancer patient every step of the way."
