Surgical Aide Debbie Roberts celebrated 50 years at Clinch Valley Medical Center in Richlands. Roberts started her career in healthcare as an X-ray technician then moved into the role of surgical scrub tech for 47 years. A few years ago, Roberts transitioned to her current surgical aide role.
"I just love taking care of my patients," Roberts said. "The patients have really enriched my life."
When Roberts was asked to share her thoughts on achieving this significant career milestone, she laughed and said, "Golly! I think it's just now hit me that I've been here 50 years! I think about what a wonderful place this is to work and what a wonderful bunch of people I've had to work with all these years."
"Debbie brightens everyone's day whether sharing a prayer or simply holding a hand. Her energy and drive to work hard sets an example for us all. She is truly an inspiration," said Clinch Valley Health's Director of Surgical Services Rhonda Sample.
A formal celebration to honor Roberts' career milestone is being planned.
