Clinch Valley Health 2024 Mercy Award Winner Robert “Bobby” Alicie recognized for demonstrating compassion and unwavering commitment to helping others
Clinch Valley Health recently announced that Robert “Bobby” Alicie has been recognized as the facility’s 2024 Mercy Award winner. The Mercy Award recognizes one employee from each of Lifepoint Health’s facilities who profoundly touches the lives of others and best represents the spirit and values on which the company was founded.
Established in 2001, the Mercy Award is an annual recognition program that honors the life and contributions of Scott Mercy, Lifepoint’s founding chairman and chief executive officer. The award is considered the highest honor a Lifepoint employee can receive.
“At Clinch Valley Health, we are committed to advancing Lifepoint’s mission of making communities healthier, and our devoted team members are critical to this work – especially Bobby,” said Dr. Peter Mulkey, President & CEO of Clinch Valley Health. “We are so proud to recognize his positive contributions to improving the overall health of our patients, supporting their families, and serving our community. Bobby always goes the extra mile to meet any need that may arise and is a true champion of our caring culture at Clinch Valley Health.”
Bobby has been employed at Clinch Valley Medical Center for 48 years as an Administrative Assistant in the Imaging Services Department. He is often described as an angel on Earth by his friends, family, colleagues, and patients. Bobby's dedication to fostering children has had a profound impact on our community. Over the years, Bobby has demonstrated an extraordinary commitment to supporting and nurturing over 10 foster children. Despite the demands of his job, Bobby has consistently made time to provide a loving and stable home for these children, many of whom have faced significant challenges in their young lives. His compassion, empathy, and willingness to go above and beyond to support these children exemplify the values that we strive to uphold here at Clinch Valley Health. In addition to fostering children, Bobby is constantly cooking and delivering meals to those who cannot cook for themselves, and he stays to visit with them. You will also find Bobby assisting neighbors in the community with lawn care, mowing the lawns of several elderly and disabled neighbors who are unable to do so themselves. His generous spirit and kind soul have inspired many people to give back and help those in need.
Each facility winner, including Bobby, will be considered for Lifepoint’s 2024 companywide Mercy Award. The companywide winner will be announced this summer and honored during a ceremony in Nashville, Tenn., in August.
