Meet Clinch Valley's Clinical Patient Educator

Join us in welcoming Tracy Maggard, RN as Clinch Valley Health's Clinical Patient Educator. 

Tracy has been a nurse for 22 years. Over the past five years she has been specializing in discharges and admissions for the Med/Surg Departments as well as floating to Outpatient Infusion, Outpatient Surgery, Labor and Deliver and ICU to help wherever an extra hand has been needed. 

A favorite part of Maggard's clinical patient educator role includes promoting the health and wellness of her patients by providing them with information.  Sharing information can improve patients and their family's knowledge of various health-related issues and promotes positive habits of healthy living. This can prevent disease, disability, and premature death by encouraging patients to take an active hand in making their life a healthy one. 

Maggard says the best nursing advice she has ever received is, "Treat everyone like someone in your family."  She takes this advice to heart and always goes the extra mile for her patients. 

Clinch Valley Health's Clinical Patient Educator's office is located on the hospital's 5th floor.  Maggard can be reached 5 days a week from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. by phone at 276-596-6044.
